5.1 – Form Builder

We are excited to introduce the new form builder in Otto! With patch 5.0.2 we will be releasing a new form builder that produces fully responsive forms with Bootstrap 3 as a base.

Drag-n-Drop
The new form builder is based on a drag-n-drop workflow, meaning that compared to the old builder it is more interactive and you actually build a form yourself. You can see the results directly while building it and fully customize the form while creating it. Simply drag the elements you need into the workspace and begin customizing it until it looks the way you want it to.

Themes
One of the big differences from the old form builder is that we’ve included 16 (more to come) themes also based on Bootstrap 3 within the form builder, these themes apply to the different form elements and the overall look of the form.

Default values
A new feature in the form builder is default values. You are now able to set some of the most important and commonly used values directly in the form builder, overwriting any values that come in from the form or from anywhere else for that matter.

Image upload
With all of this, we of course included a new feature to upload images directly into the form builder, these images are saved in your file upload list as well. Now you only have to add images directly into your forms via dragging an image, then uploading the item into your workspace and then into the form.

Form settings
A new settings section has been added to the form builder. You can now configure your forms freely using these settings. Below is a list of all the settings you can now set and edit in your forms:

  • Form Name
  • Sequences
You can now sign people up to multiple sequences from a single form.
  • Sender for sequences
Select a user that will be the sender for all the sequences that the subscribers have signed up to via the form.
  • Primary sequence
The primary sequence is the sequence which will set the default settings for the message rules; if a subscriber gets redirected or confirmed when submitting the form.
    the form.
  • Override Thank You page
If you wish to redirect the people that sign up to a external page, you can fill out this field and all sign-ups will be redirected here.
  • Thank You message
A custom thank you message that will be displayed if there are no sequences selected.
  • Lists for sign-up
Select multiple lists that you wish to add all subscribers to.
  • Tags for sign-up
Select multiple tags that will be added to the contact once it has signed up using the form.
  • Custom tracking script
Insert a custom tracking script like Google Analytics here to track your visitors to the form from external resources. All forms are of course tracked by Otto tracker by default.
  • Form closing time
Set a date/time that your form will be closed for future sign-ups. Very useful if you have a limited time offer or an event sign-up that you want to close by a certain time.

    • Form closing message
Set a custom message (HTML enabled) that your visitors will see when the form is closed
  • Max number of sign-ups
Set a maximum number of sign-ups with the form, this is very useful if you have an event with a limited number of attendees, and the form will be closed once that maximum number has been reached.

    • Max number of sign-ups message
Set a custom message (HTML enabled) that will be displayed once the maximum number of people has been reached.
